The Skully Archer is the counterpart of the Elfy in function. The main difference is its special, which instead of being a utility emergency special, can be used in offensive play, due to its increased range and damage output.
Behavior[]
When he is encountered, the skully archer will attack with their arrow from a considerable distance. They have low health and attack, so they must be used carefully. Skully archers are the only unit that can exceed a range of 200 with tier upgrades up until you unlock the Lich. Without this long ranged unit, you will be forced to either let your units get hit, use a necro to heal your units or move towards them while changing lanes to dodge enemy projectiles.
Special[]
In tier 1, their special is called the "Fire Arrow". When the special is performed, the skully archer shoots a fire arrow, stronger than normal arrows, with an infinite projectile range with an accuracy deviation of 10, 0.27s after the special animation began. This special scales off special, has a recovery animation of 1.07s, and AI-controlled skully archers will only target enemies with this ability within a range of 200. (15 Souls)
In tier 2, they have the same special, just repeated once, for a total of two fire arrows per cast with a total recovery animation of 2.13s across both arrows. (25 Souls)
In tier 3, the skully archer now gains their iconic arrow burst. When the special is performed, the skully archer shoots a fire arrow with a projectile range of 425 after 0.07s of the skully archer drawing his bow, and has a recovery animation of 0.27s per arrow. This special's accuracy deviation is now 5, has a total recovery animation of 1.07s, and AI-controlled skully archers will only target enemies with this ability within a range of 275. (30 Souls)
In tier 4, their special now shoots a burst of 5 netherflame arrows instead of 4 arrows, with the same amount of time spent per arrow. This special's accuracy deviation is now 1, making arrows very accurate, and it brings up the total recovery animation to 1.33s. (40 Souls)

Castle Skully[]
Castle skullys are a little different from normal skully archers. They automatically get summoned on top of your castle and are immune to attacks, so enemies are unable to kill them. You get your first castle skully when you arrive at level 1-4. He starts on the middle lane but you're able to move him by selecting him, and tapping up or down to switch him to another lane. You're able to buy 2 more with soulstones. When you buy the other 2 you're unable to move them. These skully archers upgrade in tier when you upgrade your normal skully archers.
Special[]
The special of tower archers are similar to the skully archers, but with a few differences.
In tier 1, the fire arrows now burn enemies for 10 dps for 5s. (15 Souls)
In tier 2, the fire arrows now burn enemies for 20 dps for 6s. (25 Souls)
In tier 3 the burst is identical to your normal skully archer's special. (30 Souls)
In tier 4 the burst is nearly identical to your normal skully archer's special, but the range has been reduced to 225, in exchange for the cost being cheaper. (30 Souls)
Strategy[]
A good strategy for taking down bosses is to put three skully archers in a row and when the strongest enemy approaches (for example a golem), place another skully archer there and hopefully it will kill it, continue this process until you have 5 to 10 rows of skully archers then make them advance ( this works great with liches in front of the skully archers)
Be careful with clumping your skully archers too close, because area of effect damage devastates skully archers.
Trivia[]
- The skully archer's range is smaller than the range of an elf because the skully archer in Legendary Wars had less range than the elfy, to let elfys take far less hits from skully archers.
- The skully archer does not have the same gem cost and cooldown as the elfy, as instead, the deadknight shares the gem cost and cooldown as the elfy.
- In the GameClub version, the Skully Archer upgrades critical by 0.1% per point instead of the equivalent 1% per two points of the original. This is probably a typo.
