The Dragon is an extremely strong and fast unit that is also flying, making ground hazards ineffective against the dragon. The dragon has the highest effective health out of every unit, including the gargoyle (original version). You unlock the dragon after 5-2.

Behavior[]

It's basic attack is a mid-range tail whip. The range at max tier, is the second highest out of all hitscan units, the first being the reap's hitscan swing. Dragons will fly to the enemy and absorb decent amounts of damage, making them a decent option for tanking, while their area-of effect specials can make for a simple solution to strong hordes of enemies.

Special[]

In tier 1, their special is called the "Fireball". The dragon spits a fireball that explodes on contact with the ground or an enemy from their mouth from an angle of -50, 0.4s after the special was cast, with a blast radius of 100. This special scales off special, has a recovery animation of 0.67s, has a 95% chance to ignite enemies for 5dps over 5s, and AI-controlled dragons will only target enemies with this ability within a range of 100. (60 Souls)

In tier 2, their special is now called the "Sand Breath". The dragon breathes sand that damages all enemies in front of it within a range of 160, 0.4s after the special was cast. This special scales off special and critical, has a recovery animation of 0.67s, and turns enemies to stone for 3s. (70 Souls)

In tier 3, their special is now called the "Vortex". The dragon instantly creates a vortex with a radius of 200, a distance of 175 from the dragon, that pulls all enemies, including status immune enemies, in that radius for 2s. After 2s, enemies are pushed with a strength of 100 for 1s, away from the direction the dragon is facing. The dragon also deals area damage to all enemies within a radius of 200, 0.47s after the special was cast. This special scales off special and critical, and has a recovery animation of 0.67s. In tier 4, their special is now called the "Dragon Nova". The dragon creates a nova out of nether energies that deals area damage to enemies within all lanes with a radius of 250, 0.47s after the special was cast. This special scales off special and critical, has a recovery animation of 0.67s, and deals 50 dps and freezes enemies with nether ice for 5s. (100 Souls)

Trivia[]

  • In Legendary Wars, the bone dragon had a special which was just a poison breath.
  • Originally, the tier 3 dragon special applied a damage debuff of 100 dps over 3s, but lacked area of effect damage.
  • The Dragon is the most expensive unit in the original versions of Monster Wars.
